I was lucky enough to spend a week at a cottage overlooking the "Lake Of Shining Waters", where author Lucy Maud Montgomery often would visit her relatives. To say I was moved is an understatement. I felt very connected to Lucy Maud's love for the natural landscape of PEI. Learning about her now as an adult has been such a powerful experience. A woman who balanced the darkness with light and beauty.

 

The way she describes Prince Edward Island is just so gorgeous. I have decided to create a collection of paintings inspired by the paths LLM walked and fell in love with all those years ago. I will do my best to capture the views she spoke about so poetically.
